Tour De Caf'e Overview

Tour De Café is a city travel app designed for coffee enthusiasts who want to discover, taste, and experience local coffee culture wherever they travel. The app helps users explore curated coffee spots, participate in hands-on workshops, create personalized coffee blends, and learn specialty techniques such as latte art — all while connecting with authentic local cafés and hosts.

This project was completed during my studies. My role focused on defining the product strategy and designing the user interface.

The Problem:

Coffee enthusiasts traveling to new cities often struggle to discover authentic local cafés and specialty experiences. Traditional travel apps highlight popular spots, but rarely provide access to curated, culture-driven coffee experiences.

The Solution:

A curated city-travel app dedicated to specialty coffee spots, workshops, and hands-on experiences.

Research & Insights

Goal: Empower coffee-focused travelers to explore cities through their coffee culture.

Key insights:

1. Coffee enthusiasts view coffee as an experience, seeking workshops, tastings & roastery visits — not just a place to buy a cup.

2. They prefer curated recommendations that reflect their knowledge and taste sophistication over generic rating systems.

Turning Insights into Design Decisions: Tours are organized by theme to support interest-driven discovery. Users browse curated experiences through a swipe-based interface and can review guide profiles and user feedback before joining.

Persona case study
Maya. age 34. Tel Aviv

Maya, 34, is a coffee enthusiast who aspires to brew exceptional coffee at home. When she travels, discovering local cafés is part of how she experiences a new city. She always asks the locals around her where is a good spot for a cup of coffee. At every new café she visits, she orders 2 different coffee cups to fully experience the roaster’s style.

Visual Framework

The app’s visual design draws inspiration directly from the world of coffee. Each theme option has its own logo, crafted to resemble a traditional coffee house attribute. This visual language ties the app’s interface to the culture and ritual of coffee, making exploration feel memorable.
